Anjie Coates

With a powerhouse career spanning 37 years, Anjie Coates is more than a master groomer—she is a master of the systems that make the pet industry work. Anjie’s journey from the grooming table to becoming a globally recognized educator is fueled by a singular passion: ensuring that pet professionals have the knowledge, safety, and profitability they deserve.

As a HELP Master Chief Instructor and a multi-certified industry expert (CMRG, ICMCG, CCE, PGC, CMPTI, PGCE), Anjie brings an unparalleled level of technical precision to the 2026 Summit. Her expertise bridges the gap between animal wellness and business survival. Whether she is deconstructing complex OSHA safety standards, navigating the high-stakes world of Labor Law, or calculating Product Cost Per Dog to the penny, Anjie provides the “hard math” that salon owners need to stay profitable.

Beyond the salon, Anjie is an award-winning author (Barkleigh Honors Book of the Year) and the founder of Coates Design, where she has spent over 30 years building digital infrastructure for the pet industry. At this Summit, Anjie serves as your Lead Architect, providing the blueprints for a legal, safe, and sellable legacy.

The Science of the Suds: 9 AM PST, 12EST

Unlock the molecular secrets behind every bath. This session moves beyond "shampooing" and into the clinical world of surfactant science. We will explore the ionic charges of dirt and hair, teaching you how to manipulate anionic and cationic bonds to achieve a truly deep clean without stripping the skin’s biological shield. You will learn to perform a "Product Audit," selecting chemistry based on molecular performance rather than marketing promises.

The Science of Water 11 AM PST, 2PM EST

This course dives into the mineralogy of the "Universal Solvent" to reveal how hard water and mineral buildup can neutralize your expensive disinfectants and shampoos. Dressed for Summer!: 1PM PST, 4PM EST

In this class, Erin will show you how to create a cute summer dress out of fur in a salon setting! You will learn how to achieve clean lines while applying dye, and how to apply multiple colors at the same time! Don’t miss this unique creative grooming webinar!

The Pathogen's Journey 2:30pm PST, 5:30PM EST

Microbiology for the Modern Groomer: Before you can kill a threat, you have to understand how it moves. This microbiology intensive tracks the invisible travel of bacteria, fungi, and viruses through the modern salon environment. This is the essential biological foundation needed to master the high-level sanitation systems taught in our Monday intensive.
